Recommended for Beginner and Intermediate students
For students of Japanese who want to know more than they can find in dictionaries and textbooks.
This book explains and gives examples for many 'power' words - small words that are used over and over again in everyday Japanese, but aren't easy to define in traditional dictionaries or textbooks. The student may have encountered a few of them, but didn't understand proper usage. Here are a few examples of words explained and shown with examples:
are, kono aida, sorekoso, kuse(ni), dokomademo, naniyori...
The second part is idiomatic expressions like:
itsu no ma ni ka, ~ni shimatta, to ienai koto mo nai, to iu koto, sekkaku, wazawaza, etc...
If you are preparing for the JLPT, this may be a good book for you. You will encounter a number of these tricky words on the test.
