Upgrading Japanese oral communication skills from the intermediate level, where you are able to communicate smoothly in stereotyped situations, to the advanced level where you can meet the sudden challenges of an unexpected turn in the conversation is no easy task.
This transition requires study materials written in a natural Japanese style, with an interesting content somewhat removed from basic everyday life and pitched at an appropriate level of difficulty.
This textbook aims to polish the learner's overall communication skills through reading many appropriate and carefully chosen examples of authentic Japanese writing combined with discussion and reports which further deepen the student's grasp of the material. The overall approach is to nurture proficiency, with the goal of moving from intermediate to advanced language skills.
